The mid-term workshop took place in Athens in October 2006. It gave the opportunity to the advisory panel and to the project team to meet face-to-face and discuss project content, utilisation of project results and long-term operation of the Observatory. The workshop was open to other national or European stakeholders, and an open call to widen the range and participation of "observer partners" has already been issued. The end-of-project conference took place in Brussels in September 2007. It was co-organised by EFVET and the Euracademy Association, with a double purpose: firstly, to present and discuss the results of the project and debate the issues of lifelong learning and the use of IT in rural areas; and secondly, to present plans for the long-term operation of the Observatory, receive feedback and explore possibilities for collaboration with a wider partnership of organisations that have a direct interest in the activities of the Observatory, either as training providers or as policy makers or social partners representing the rural SMEs (Brussels International Conference - read more...)
